Sometimes opportunities fall into your lap when you least expect it. That conversation you struck up while grabbing coffee a few weeks ago? Turns out they’re interested in your freelance work. Trouble is you currently have a cup of coffee in your hand and are miles away from your computer. No worries with Timely! You can get that project set-up right away using our mobile apps (iOS and Android) before that coffee gets cold, so by the time you’re back at your computer, you’re ready to get stuck in! 💪 

First, head to the “Projects” tab and tap the blue “+” in the top-right corner:

From there, you can add a title for your project by tapping “Project Name”:

Select the client it belongs to or create a new client:

Select the project color:

Note: There are fewer color options available on mobile than on web. You can always create your project on the mobile app and update its color later when signed into Timely on a computer.

Add users who can log time to the project:

Set one hourly rate for all users on a project, or individual rates per user:

Create a time or money budget:

Note: If you have the recurring budgets feature on your account, you won’t be able to set budget intervals on mobile; you’ll need to edit your project from a computer to set them. Just keep in mind that you cannot edit a recurring budget interval once it’s been set.

Finally, select the tags you want to use when logging time:

Note: You won’t be able to manage your tags on mobile, but you can update any tag lists or individual tags by signing into your account on the web.

Tap “Save” and you’re done!
